Google Starts Banning Apps like “ReVanced” that Enable Ad-Free YouTube Watching

YouTube has now started banning third-party applications like ReVanced as well. The company, not wanting to lose ad revenue, has found a way to neutralize such applications.

YouTube, the world’s most popular online video platform, has been battling ad blockers for a while now. As part of this effort, the platform has been blocking ad-blocking extensions in many countries, including Turkey. Recent news indicates that the situation is escalating.

Google announced on YouTube’s official support page that applications like ReVanced will now be blocked. This means that users who want to watch YouTube ad-free will have no option other than a YouTube Premium subscription.

Google, unable to directly block applications like ReVanced, has found a way to render such apps ineffective. According to Google’s statement, services like ReVanced will start experiencing cache issues after watching a few videos. Additionally, error messages such as “This content is not available on this app.” will be displayed.

YouTube’s statement confirms that efforts to block third-party applications have already begun. Hence, users may start facing issues while using apps like ReVanced from today onwards. It seems we will soon see how developers will tackle this situation.
