Instagram is introducing a new feature that will make sharing profile details quicker and easier: the Profile Card.
Meta’s social media giant, Instagram, has rolled out the profile card feature to help users seamlessly share their Instagram accounts with others. Acting as a digital business card, the profile card displays key information such as a bio, profile picture, links, and even music on one side, while the other side features a QR code that directly links to the user’s profile. Additionally, the background of the card can be personalized with an image of the user’s choice.
Instagram explains that this feature is a response to Gen Z’s increasing tendency to use their Instagram profiles as a digital resume. The platform notes that more than half of Gen Z aspires to become influencers, and the profile card provides a fast and convenient way for users to share their details with potential collaborators and brands, making it easier to connect and network.
This new feature offers a streamlined way to make connections, meet new people, and potentially open doors for future influencer partnerships, further enhancing Instagram’s role in personal branding and social networking.
