YouTube Introduces New Comment Moderation Tool for Video Creators
YouTube, the popular video-sharing platform, has unveiled a novel content moderation tool aimed at empowering video creators to temporarily halt the addition of new comments while retaining previously posted entries. This innovative feature allows authors to take a breather from actively managing comments, especially in cases of overwhelming comment volumes.
Prior to this update, content creators navigating YouTube had limited options for comment moderation: they could either manually review comments before publishing, disable commenting altogether, or auto-publish all comments. However, this recent enhancement offers a broader spectrum of moderation choices. Reports indicate that the rollout of the comment pausing feature has already commenced.
Furthermore, YouTube has revealed a restructuring of some video comment moderation settings. Users will no longer need to toggle constantly between the “Leave potentially inappropriate comments for review” and “Increase severity” options. Instead, they are recommended to utilize the Enable, Pause, and Disable options. Enabling comments also necessitates the selection of one of several moderation levels: None (completely unmoderated), Basic (reserving potentially inappropriate comments for manual review), Strict (expanding the range of comments for review), and Save All (sending all comments for manual moderation).
